Continuous therapeutic ultrasound has been used to treat various musculoskeletal pathologies like osteoarthritis, soft tissue shoulder pathology, and myofascial pain for many years. Ultrasound therapy consist of application of ultrasound energy for the purpose of treatment of the affected area.
Indications for use of ultrasound therapy includes, joint contractures or adhesive capsulitis, chronic arthritis, extra-articular rheumatism, calcific bursitis, fibrosis, myositis and muscle hematoma.
